A LETTER TO OUR PARENTS & STUDENTS

Many of you may have seen Friday's article in the Vallejo Times-Herald regarding VCUSD suing MIT Academy to stop construction on the new construction on the Everest and E-Building complexes. The reporter, John Glidden, did a good job on the article but was unable to include my complete comments, so here they are in their entirety:
 
"Yes, the district has been pursuing litigation against MIT Academy all summer long. It's a shame, really, because we asked for mediation and the district chose a legal route first, despite our lease agreement explicitly calling for mediation as a preliminary step in any conflicts over our the agreement.

MITA Places 2nd @ the 2016 MATE Regional ROV Competition

MITA Student teams Robits and RoboLife Mk.3 had the opportunity to compete at the 2016 MATE Regional ROV Competition at Monterey Bay on April 30th.

The RoboLife Mk.3 team managed to place 2nd at their level in the event! Congratulations!

MITA Among U.S. News "Best High Schools" Once Again!

Congratulations to all as MIT Academy has been named "One of America's Best High Schools" by U.S. News & World Report for the second consecutive year! This prestigious award, which is roughly awarded to the top 10% of American high schools, is based on academic achievement, graduation rate, and college-going percentage.

2015 Best High SchoolsMIT Academy has been recognized as a bronze award winner by U.S. News and World Report's annual survey of America's best high schools. The U.S. News rankings survey over 29,000 public high schools in 50 states and the District of Columbia and awarded awards to approximately 6,500 schools overall.

Congratulations Robotics Team!

Congratulations to our middle school robotics team, composed of David Panuco, Curtis Davies, Lamont Lavallier Turner, Zachary Cope, and Wamuiru Irvin who competed in the Monterey Bay Underwater Robotics Regional Robotics Competition and won Rookies of the Year! Congratulations to the boys, along with coach Laurie Guest, and we can't wait to see what you come up with next year!
